Palm Sunday/ Willow day/ Flowers day

Today Christians in Bulgaria celebrate Palm Sunday, the last Sunday of Lent before Easter.
One of the folklore traditions on this day is the custom to weave circlets out of willow shoots, which replace the palms from the biblical tradition. The circlets are worn either on head or wrists and later hung on doors.
People whose names are in some way associated with flowers or trees celebrates Palm Sunday as their name day.
I like the shining smile of this gipsy boy, who was selling willow shoots and flowers near "Al. Nevski" Cathedral.

You can find such workers-statues from the socialist years everywhere in the bulgarian parks and gardens. Somebody has cut out a part of the metal shovel to sell it as a scrap (very modern vandalism).
